Anise Myrtle

If you love the taste and smell of liquorice, your will love aniseed myrtle. This native Australian herb is beautiful addition to sauces, marinades and salad dressings.

Anise Myrtle was traditionally used by Aboriginal people medicinally as a tonic which had a vitalising effect.

Anise myrtle produces leaves with a strong aniseed scent and flavour. In the wild,
the trees are found in the sub-tropical rainforests of northern New South Wales.

How to use

If you love to bake, trying adding a little to your bread or biscotti mix.

Great in dips, salad dressings and hot sauces. Replace aniseed liqueurs in savoury or sweet recipes for a truly delightful alcohol-free licorice flavour.

Sprinkle over roasted vegetables or garnish pumpkin soup with Anise myrtle

Great addition

So versatile. I use in soups, casseroles and in marinades. A lovely subtle flavour

Review of Kakadu Plumb with anise Myrtle

So far only used once, sprinkled on steak…..nice flavours but a bit “twiggy” in the mouth.

Anise myrtle

Just loooooove this product. Has so many uses in both savoury and sweet food. I sometimes grind it in a coffee grinder and make a powder. Sprinkle it on smoothies, fruit salad, ice cream, practically anything that tickles your fancy

A wonderful treat

A lovely subtle flavour, and not too sweet without being bitter either, which was wonderful! Loved it
