BACK IN STOCK!

Our most popular book is back!

An essential guide and invaluable resource for anyone interested in herbal medicine, Australian flora and the indigenous Australian culture.

Plants have been used for medicinal purposes since earliest recorded history and Australia?s varied flora provided Aboriginal people with medicines. With the arrival of Europeans much of this knowledge was overtaken by modern drugs and techniques but today there is a revival of interest in traditional medicines.

Australian Medicinal Plants covers the Aboriginal use of native plants and explains how the first settlers learned from the First Nations Peoples medicinal values. There is information on nearly 500 individual plants, how they were used, what they're known pharmacological constituents are, where to find them and how to prepare remedies. The species are helpfully arranged in chapters according to their use: for fevers, painkillers, antiseptics and digestive disorders for instance.

Great book

Thank you, have started reading this, and it has lead me down a rabbit hole of reading material which is not readily available in the mainstream…. A great addition to my little “library”. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom… Love it!

Incorporating Aboriginal knowledge in restoring Queensland Regional Ecosystems

This is a most important book book. Easy to use and precise in its information. It is complimentary to the range of other resources we use to guide us on what native medical and food plants we could be growing within constraints and restrictions of the Queensland Regional Ecosystems present on our property. We are grateful to the Aboriginal Peoples who have shared their deep botanical cultural knowledge with the authors and so enabled that knowledge to be made available to us in this book.

Wonderful learning resource of Australian Medical plants

As a Homoeopath who is interested in the traditional use of Australian Medicinal plants, this book did not disappoint. This book is a great reference guide and one that you should have if you are interested in the healing world of Australian Medicinal plants. More photos would be great to help indentify specific plants.
