EASY Apple Crumble with Wattleseed

This recipe has been in my family for years! Mum made this when we were kids, and now continuously makes it for my kids. It is one of those recipes that has no recipe…. if you know what I mean. That kind of recipe that all the ingredients are put together and the quantity is based on taste and texture.

I want to show you how easy it is to add a little extra ingredient to your traditional ‘mum’s recipe’. A simple easy recipe incorporating our native wattleseed - mums traditional recipe just with an easy addition!

Ingredients:

Filling:

2 cans pie apples

Cinnamon

Nutmeg

Brown Sugar

Wattleseed

Topping:

1 1/2 cups rolled oats

125g butter

Wattleseed

Mix all the filling ingredients together in a bowl. This is where you can also get creative by adding other ingredients including stewed rhubarb, pear, raisons, currants and some nuts.

Pour into a baking dish. To make the topping mix and massage all the ingredients together until it is a crumb like texture. Sprinkle wattleseed on top before baking.

Bake for around 40 minutes or until golden on top.
